Economic and Regional Impact

At its opening, the airport was expected to support economic growth in Mersin, Adana and neighbouring provinces. Better access to international markets and an increase in visitors could benefit the region. The airport was also expected to create around 3,000 direct and indirect jobs. The airport's location and infrastructure offer opportunities for the region's economic development.
