The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has published its report on real estate sales statistics for 2025.
A Total of 1,688,910 Properties Sold in Turkey in 2025
In 2025, 1,688,910 residential properties were sold in Turkey, reflecting a 14.3% increase compared to 2024. Istanbul recorded the highest number of sales with 280,262 properties. Ankara and Izmir followed with 152,534 and 96,998 sales, respectively. The lowest sales figures were reported in Ardahan (727), Bayburt (1,251), and Hakkari (1,559).

254,777 Properties Sold in December 2025
In December 2025, 254,777 properties were sold, a 19.8% increase compared to December 2024.

Mortgage Property Sales in 2025 Reached 236,668
Mortgage-financed property sales in December increased by 25.2% to 29,149 units. For the entire year, mortgage sales totaled 236,668, marking a 49.3% increase compared to the previous year. Mortgage transactions accounted for 11.4% of total sales in December and 14.0% of all property sales in 2025.
1,452,242 Properties Sold Through Other Sales Types in 2025
Across Turkey, sales through other transaction types rose by 19.2% in December compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 225,628 properties. In 2025, the total number of homes sold through these transactions increased by 10.1%, amounting to 1,452,242 units.

540,786 New Homes Sold in 2025
New home sales in December increased by 26.2% year-on-year, reaching 96,690 units. Throughout 2025, new home sales rose by 11.6% compared to the previous year, totaling 540,786 properties. The share of new home sales within total transactions was 38.0% in December and 32.0% for the year.
Resale Home Sales Totaled 1,148,124 in 2025
Resale transactions reached 158,087 units in December 2025, a 16.2% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. For the full year, 1,148,124 resale properties were sold, representing a 15.6% rise year-on-year.

21,534 Properties Sold to Foreigners in 2025
Property sales to foreigners in 2025 totaled 21,534, a 9.4% decrease compared to 2024. Istanbul led with 7,989 sales, followed by Antalya (7,118) and Mersin (1,800). In December 2025, 2,541 properties were sold to foreign buyers.

The Highest Number of Property Sales by Nationality Was to Russian Citizens
Russian nationals remained the largest group of foreign buyers in 2025, purchasing 3,649 homes. They were followed by Iranian citizens (1,878) and Ukrainian citizens (1,541). In December 2025, Russian citizens purchased 504 properties.
